In 2016, I began working with a Forrester Wave-recognized leader in CDN and DDoS mitigation services, one of several SaaS and tech companies I’ve partnered with over the years.
As a global company entering a significant expansion phase, one of their immediate challenges was generating demand in their native US market. However, the long-term vision involved penetrating international markets, including China, South Korea, and Japan. This required laying a robust SEO foundation with future international needs in mind.
Key Activities and Strategies
To drive success both in the US and internationally, I implemented a range of strategies:
- SEO Migration Risk Management: Oversaw the transition from a legacy platform to a new JavaScript-based platform.
- Competitor and Keyword Research: Conducted detailed analysis across product verticals to identify opportunities.
- Page and Content Hub Structuring: Provided input on optimal page structure, content hubs, and internal linking to enhance user experience and SEO.
- Vertical Monitoring and Opportunity Analysis: Regularly tracked performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Emerging Keyword Research: Identified and targeted technical terms and products that were new to the market.
Results Achieved
Through close collaboration with the internal marketing team, we delivered outstanding results over three years:
- 318% increase in organic traffic in the US
- 1,326% increase in organic traffic in Germany
- 926% increase in organic traffic in France
- 3,780% increase in organic traffic in Brazil
- Achieved over 15,000 Page One keyword rankings in the US
- Successfully expanded into 12+ countries and 9+ languages
This project demonstrates the transformative impact of a data-driven, globally minded SEO strategy, positioning the company for long-term growth in competitive international markets.
